Bill Turner Ph.D
In the rural, isolated part of the Appalachian Region where Bill Turner was born and reared, history, continuity, beliefs of the ancestors, and transferred values are as perinneal as the mountains.
How and why people should be autonomous and free from most hindrance, but at the same time, completely interdependent with their extended families is not only his personal story but is also the basis of his research, scholarly writing, and executive coaching.
Trained at the prestiguous Notre Dame Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Dr. Turner understands and articulates the value systems that underlie the attitudes and behaviors that hold families together intergenerationally.
Dr. Turner, presently the National Endowment for the Humanities Distinguished Chair of Appalachian Studies at Berea College (KY) served for more than a decade as a Research Associate to Roots author, Alex Haley.

Isabelle Gingras Ph.D coaches family business leaders to understand their vision for succession planning and development of leadership. She then determines the skills and training that will be necessary for that vision to become reality.
She also assesses the motivations of younger family members and key employees to determine the fit with the values of the family, therefore planning for successful transitions. Fit is the match or congruence between the individual (e.g., skills, cognitive style, emotional intelligence, values, motivations) and the requirements of a role in the family’s business and assets management.
Bringing young family members into the business and ensuring next generation succession rely on maximizing fit – thus avoiding costly and painful mistakes. Dr. Gingras holds a Ph. D. in psychology from Stanford University and has extensive experience in assessing motivations, aspirations, values, and goal setting, thus enabling individuals to make better choices and implement their action plans.
